New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

Immigrate to New Brunswick: Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) provides immigration pathways for foreign nationals who want to live, work, or run a business in New Brunswick. Managed by Immigration New Brunswick (ImmigrationNB) in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), this program allows the province to nominate individuals based on local economic and labour market needs.

While ImmigrationNB selects candidates who meet New Brunswick’s criteria, IRCC makes the final decision on permanent residence applications.

NBPNP Immigration Streams:

New Brunswick offers several immigration streams tailored to meet the needs of employers, skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs.

 NB Express Entry Stream

This stream allows New Brunswick to use the federal Express Entry system to meet specific labour and demographic needs. It operates under an Expression of Interest (EOI) model.

Eligibility Criteria:

Active Express Entry profile

Job Seeker Validation Code OR enrolled in a PGWP-eligible program at a federally-designated post-secondary institution

Currently residing in New Brunswick

Valid language test results with a minimum of CLB 7 in English or French

 NB Skilled Worker Stream

This stream is for individuals who have received a permanent, full-time job offer from a New Brunswick employer.

Eligibility Criteria:

Intention to live and work in New Brunswick

Full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer and a letter of support

Minimum high school diploma (Canadian or equivalent)

Aged between 19 and 55

Minimum CLB 4 in English or French

 NB Strategic Initiative Stream

This stream is designed for Francophone skilled workers who have the skills and experience to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and wish to live in the province permanently.

Eligibility Criteria:

Intention to settle in New Brunswick

A qualifying connection to the province

Minimum high school diploma (Canadian or equivalent)

Required settlement funds

Aged between 19 and 55

French language proficiency of at least NCLC 5

 NB Critical Worker Pilot

Launched in November 2022, this unique program allows designated New Brunswick employers to recruit foreign workers to meet urgent labour shortages in key sectors. It aims to fill critical job roles and ensure successful newcomer settlement through employer-led support.

NB Private Career College Graduate Pilot

This pilot program supports graduates from designated private career colleges in New Brunswick who have completed eligible programs of study and secured a job offer from a provincial employer. It helps talented students transition from education to permanent settlement in New Brunswick.

 NB Business Immigration Stream

This stream is for experienced business owners or entrepreneurs who wish to start, purchase, or actively manage a business in New Brunswick.

Eligibility Criteria:

A qualifying connection to New Brunswick to submit an EOI

Minimum 3-year academic degree or 2-year trade diploma

Minimum net worth of $600,000 CAD (with at least $300,000 readily available)

Aged between 22 and 55

Minimum CLB 5 in English or French

 Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

As one of the four Atlantic provinces, New Brunswick participates in the Atlantic Immigration Program to attract and retain skilled foreign workers and international graduates. Applicants must have a job offer from a designated employer in New Brunswick and meet federal program requirements.

This program is open to individuals:

Living outside Canada or on temporary status within Canada

Who meet language, education, and experience requirements

And have a valid job offer from a designated Atlantic employer
