Labour Impact Category
The Labour Impact Category is for individuals with skills in demand by PEI employers. It includes three streams:
1. Skilled Worker Stream
For foreign nationals with skilled job offers from PEI employers
Requires post-secondary education and relevant experience
2. Critical Worker Stream
For individuals working in semi-skilled or unskilled jobs in PEI
Must be supported by the current PEI employer for PR nomination
3. International Graduate Stream
For graduates from PEI post-secondary institutions
Must have a full-time job offer in their field of study
Job Offer Required:
Application Fee: CAD $300
Processing Time: 6 months or less
General Eligibility Requirements:
Aged 21 to 59
Full-time permanent or 2-year job offer in PEI
Intention to live and work in PEI
CLB 4 minimum in English or French
Sufficient settlement funds
Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream
This stream is for entrepreneurs who want to own and actively manage a business in PEI.
Job Offer Required:
Application Fee: CAD $10,000 (CAD $7,500 refunded if application withdrawn before interview)
Processing Time: ~6 months
Minimum Requirements:
Aged 21 to 59
Net worth of CAD $600,000+
Minimum secondary school education
Proven business ownership or management experience
Meet minimum CLB 4 in English or French
Intention to live and actively manage a business in PEI
Applicants first obtain a work permit to start operating a business in PEI. If conditions are met, they can then apply for a nomination for permanent residence.
