Yukon Community Pilot (YCP)
1. Yukon Express Entry (YEE)
This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system and is for foreign skilled workers with a valid job offer in Yukon.
Job Offer Required:
Processing Time: 12–14 weeks
Minimum Requirements:
Must meet criteria for one of the three federal programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Valid Express Entry profile
Full-time, permanent job offer from a Yukon employer
Sufficient funds to settle in Yukon
Intention to live and work in the Yukon
If nominated, applicants receive 600 CRS points, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through Express Entry.
2. Skilled Worker Stream
This stream is for candidates with a full-time, permanent job offer in a high-skilled occupation in Yukon.
Job Offer Required: (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3)
Location Requirement: Must intend to settle in Yukon
Eligibility Highlights:
Valid, full-time job offer in a skilled occupation (TEER 0–3)
Employer must be pre-approved by the Yukon government
Candidate must meet the language and education requirements of the occupation
Previous work experience may be required
Candidate must show intent to live and work in Yukon
3. Critical Impact Worker Stream
This stream is for semi-skilled and unskilled workers with a job offer in high-demand occupations within Yukon.
Job Offer Required: (NOC TEER 4 or 5)
Location Requirement: Can apply from outside Canada
Eligibility Highlights:
Must have worked for at least 6 months in the same position or related occupation
Valid, full-time job offer in an in-demand occupation
High school diploma (or equivalent)
CLB 4 in English or French
Proof of settlement funds
Employer must prove efforts to hire locally before offering the job to a foreign worker
4. Business Nominee Program
This stream targets entrepreneurs and experienced businesspeople who want to start or invest in a Yukon-based business.
Job Offer Required:
Minimum Investment: Significant (based on business proposal)
Eligibility Highlights:
Net worth of at least CAD $500,000
Minimum CAD $300,000 investment in a Yukon business
At least 3 years of entrepreneurial or management experience
Detailed business plan required
Must operate the business actively and reside in Yukon
Must meet CLB 4+ in English or French
Candidates first apply for a two-year work permit and, if conditions are met, may be nominated for permanent residence.
5. Yukon Community Pilot (YCP)
(Note: This pilot ran from 2020–2023 and may no longer be active)
This special program provided a location-restricted open work permit, allowing eligible individuals to work for multiple employers within a participating Yukon community.
Job Offer Required: (From at least 2 employers in one Yukon community)
Nomination Required: Must already be nominated under YNP
